Cat's Paw (Stylophora)

Category

SPS (small polyped stonies)

Description

It is a moderately difficult coral to maintain in the reef aquarium and should only be incorporated into a mature reef aquarium. To bring out its brightest colors, the Stylophora Coral needs strong lighting provided by preferably metal halides, but intense power compact or T-5 fluorescent lighting may be sufficient. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. While it does not require additional food to maintain its health in the reef aquarium, it will feed on micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates in the evening when its polyps are expanded.
